Forehead wrinkles are the lines that appear horizontally across the forehead. These can be dynamic (only present when the ‘frontalis’ facial muscle is contracted i.e. during facial expression) or static (present even when the face is at rest).
Typically, forehead lines are the earliest wrinkles to appear. There are many factors that can contribute to the development of these lines. These include the aging process, UV skin damage, smoking and genetic factors.
Botox® injection is typically a very effective treatment to reduce /eliminate the appearance of forehead lines. However, the best results with Botox® are achieved when treating dynamic lines (lines only present when frowning etc). For clients who are affected by static and more deeper lines, Botox® in conjunction with dermal filler can produce a more satisfactory result. It is also possible to treat forehead wrinkles without the use of Botox®. Such treatments include microneeedling (Dermapen, Dermastamp and Dermaroller), chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments.
